# Shetland Results data and API guide

> Read-only, source-aware access to 5 Shetland competition datasets, 62 result entries and 43 stable person profiles.

## Interpretation rules

- `null` means unknown, never zero.
- A hidden bodyweight is `null` with `bodyweight_status: hidden`.
- A failed powerlifting attempt may have an unknown attempted weight when the source says only ‘no lift’.
- Upcoming competitions retain places, points and performance measurements as `null` until results are recorded.
- Event status is `upcoming`, `live` or `completed`. Completeness and confidence apply only to completed records.
- Person statistics are bests in this archive, not unqualified lifetime personal bests.
- Stable IDs and slugs identify records. Similar names must not be merged without explicit archive evidence.

## Read-only API

- [API index](https://shetlandcompetitions.com/api/v1)
- [OpenAPI 3.1 JSON](https://shetlandcompetitions.com/api/v1/openapi.json)
- [Archive statistics](https://shetlandcompetitions.com/api/v1/stats)
- [Competition list](https://shetlandcompetitions.com/api/v1/competitions)
- [Search](https://shetlandcompetitions.com/api/v1/search?q=powerlifting)

Dates use ISO 8601. Enums use lowercase snake case. Pagination uses `page` and `per_page`. Public GET endpoints can be read cross-origin. The contact-request endpoint is private operational data and is not part of the archive data surface.

## Downloads

Downloads are released only for completed events. Competition pages then offer round-trippable JSON and human-readable CSV ZIP files. Person downloads include only completed results, while sport and filtered competition downloads include only matching completed competitions.

## Licence and provenance

Normalised factual data is dedicated under [CC0-1.0](https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/). Third-party source documents, screenshots, articles and media are excluded. Public scoped exports retain sanitised provenance, checksums and audit information without exposing private filesystem paths.
