Archive data

Data and API

Download a specific competition or person. Sport pages also provide one download containing every currently published competition for that sport. Source documents, screenshots and third-party media are never redistributed.

Downloads

  • Competition downloadsOpen a competition to download its round-trippable JSON or human-readable CSV ZIP.
  • Person downloadsOpen a person profile to download only that person's published results.

CSV ZIP files are organised into a clearly named folder for each competition, with simple competition, people and results files. Technical tables, a manifest, SHA-256 checksums and a data dictionary are retained in a hidden folder for automated use. Only currently published competitions are eligible, and downloads are released only after an event is marked completed. Upcoming and live event data can be viewed on the site but is not included in downloadable files. Contact requests are private and are never included.

What the statuses mean

Event status

  • Upcoming: the event has not happened yet.
  • Live: results are being added while the event is in progress.

Upcoming and live events show their event status instead of a completeness or confidence assessment.

Completeness

  • Complete: all of the detail available in the published source has been preserved.
  • Partial: useful detail is present, but known fields or records are missing.
  • Summary only: only a winner or another limited summary is available.

Confidence

  • Confirmed: directly supported by an authoritative or corroborated source.
  • Probable: the evidence is strong but not definitive.
  • Uncertain: the source or identity needs further verification.

These are evidence assessments, not percentages. In powerlifting, a recorded no lift remains a failed attempt even when the source does not provide the attempted weight.

Archive API

Version 1 is available under /api/v1. Archive records are read-only. The API supports sports, competitions, people, search, filters, pagination and scoped exports. Dates use ISO 8601, enums use lowercase snake case, and measurements retain their recorded metric unit.

For data maintainers

The JSON import format (technical) is a validation blueprint for trusted competition imports. It defines the required structure, field types and accepted values before data enters the archive; it is not a results download.

AI and automated access

Public archive pages and read-only data routes welcome search engines, research crawlers and AI agents. They require no account, cookies or JavaScript. The crawler policy explicitly permits search indexing, real-time AI retrieval and model training on the public material within the licence boundary below.

Automated access does not change the licence boundary: CC0 applies to normalised factual archive data. It does not apply to third-party source documents or media, which are not republished here. Private contact requests are never available to crawlers or exports.

Licence and sources

Normalised factual data is dedicated to the public domain under CC0-1.0. Third-party source documents, photographs, screenshots, articles and other media are explicitly excluded from that dedication and from downloads.

Source references, hashes, as-of dates and import audit information remain in the API and downloads. Detailed source identities and URLs are deliberately kept out of the visual result pages.
